Rachel Forester-Bennett

Relational Psychotherapist

Psychotherapist for children, teens and adults

Face-to-face and online therapy with a focus on relationships, emotional abuse and adverse childhood experiences.

My service can help you to navigate past experiences that are still impacting you today, make sense of the relationship that’s left you wondering, “what on Earth was that?!”, and help you to uncover underlying and deeper-rooted issues that seem to be lingering without invitation.

My specialist areas:

  • relationship difficulties

  • anxiety and self-esteem

  • childhood trauma

  • narcissistic abuse/coercive control

  • domestic abuse and violence

  • identity and expression

  • neurodiversity

I also work with children and younger people (7-18) to help them make sense of their world and rebuild confidence in a way that fits them as an individual.

My extensive and diverse background in education has helped me to underpin my private practice with the values of inclusivity and building positive rapport with my clients.

Why me?

As an integrative therapist, I offer a grounded, judgment-free space where you can slow down, breathe, and explore what’s really going on beneath the surface. Whether you're navigating relational trauma, anxiety, depression, or simply feeling stuck, our work together is about making sense of your inner world and creating meaningful, lasting change.

My approach is collaborative and tailored specifically to you. As a fully qualified and registered integrative psychotherapist, I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities - bringing in what fits you rather than expecting you to fit a model. I take the time to understand who you are at your core: your history, your patterns, your hopes, and the parts of you that have learned to survive.

In our sessions, you’ll build a deeper understanding of yourself, develop healthier coping strategies, and learn how to create relationships that feel safe and genuine. Over time, this work can help you reconnect with your authentic self, feel more aligned with your values, and move through life with a greater sense of clarity and fulfillment.

I also work with children and young people. My experiences as a teaching assistant (2 years as ALN/SEMH support), teacher (11 years as a Secondary Teacher of Art) and an in-school counsellor (3 years) has enabled me to extend my services to children and young people, too.

If you, or your child, is ready to begin making sense of your story and moving toward a more grounded and empowered version of yourself, I’m here to walk that path with you.
